About the Founder

Shashi Preetam – A Visionary Music Composer & Filmmaker.He is a celebrated Indian music composer, filmmaker, and media personality known for his trendsetting work in the Telugu and Hindi film industries. His musical journey began with the cult hit Gulabi (1990s), which introduced a fresh and youthful sound to Tollywood. With over three decades of experience, he has composed music for 28 feature films, 10 background scores, and more than 1,000 jingles for TV and radio.

Beyond music, Shashi Preetam is an accomplished filmmaker, having directed and produced films like Na Pranam Kante Ekkuva (Telugu, 2004 - the first digital to negative experiment), Rani (Hindi, 2006), Kirkit (Hindi, 2009), and Cross Roads (Telugu-Hindi-Malayalam - Tamil - Bengali - Kannada, 2023-25), a critically acclaimed movie that won 23 national and international awards.

He is also the Indian distributor for the Hindi version of Hero (2002), starring Jet Li, in association with Twentieth Century Fox Studios. An award-winning Cinematographer, Writer, and Director.

As the Founder & Executive President of SPACE Academy (Sashi Preetam's Academy of Cinema & Entertainment), he is committed to nurturing talent in music, media, and filmmaking. Known for his soulful and innovative compositions, he continues to inspire a new generation of artists while contributing to the growth of India's entertainment industry.

Founded by renowned music director and filmmaker Shashi Preetam and his daughter, Aishwarya Krishna Priya, SPACE Academy is a premier institute dedicated to cinema, media, and entertainment arts.

Aishwarya Krishna Priya, the co-founder of SPACE Academy, is a mental health expert and qualified musician. She holds a Master’s in Psychology from King’s College London and an MBA from Osmania University.

A trained musician from Trinity College London, she carries forward her father’s legacy in the creative and academic space. With her expertise, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the academy’s vision into a practical reality by designing curriculums, structuring exams, and refining teaching methodologies.
